Mr. Ma was a professor in Department of Engineering Physics, Tsinghua University. In 1974, he developed the first Chinese semiconductor ion implementing machine as a member of research team in Tsinghua and was awarded the Second Prize of Chinese Industrial Electronics Department. Mr. Ma took part in developing Chinese first medical microwave linear accelerator. In 1979 this project won Beijing’s First Prize of Science and Technology. Mr. Ma successfully developed the first solid-state green laser of China. After that, he joined CNIS (China National Institute of Standardization) and engaged in the research and development of national standards, in charge of communications between TC176 of ISO and COPOLCO of China. Mr. Ma took part in drafting and revising a large number of national standards. He was the winner of the Third Prize issued by CNIS. Since 1988, Mr. Ma has engaged in China Patent Agent (H.K.) LTD. (CPA), as Director of Beijing office, in charge of patent management affairs. He has agented more than 3,000 patent applications and was recognized as "Excellent Patent Agent" of China. After leaving CPA he formed and managed several IP departments in integrated law firms.
